Un peu de contexte<\/span><\/strong> :<\/h2>\n\n\n

Le Catalogue des n\u00e9buleuses et des amas d’\u00e9toiles<\/strong><\/em>, plus connu comme le catalogue de Messier<\/strong>, est un catalogue astronomique<\/a> d’objets<\/a> d’aspect diffus cr\u00e9\u00e9 en 1774 par Charles Messier<\/a> afin d’aider les chercheurs de com\u00e8tes<\/a> \u00e0 ne pas confondre celles-ci avec divers objets diffus dont la nature \u00e9tait alors inconnue (galaxies<\/a>, divers types de n\u00e9buleuses<\/a> et amas d’\u00e9toiles<\/a>) mais fixes par rapport aux \u00e9toiles<\/a>. Charles Messier avait en effet lui-m\u00eame \u00e9t\u00e9 victime d’une telle m\u00e9prise, assimilant par erreur la n\u00e9buleuse du Crabe<\/a> \u00e0 la com\u00e8te de Halley<\/a>, dont il attendait le retour dans cette r\u00e9gion du ciel. C’est d’ailleurs pour cette raison que la N\u00e9buleuse du Crabe est le premier objet du catalogue Messier (M1).<\/p>\n\n\n\n
